Piano Grande

Literally "big plane" the Piano Grande is a vast plato high in the mountains. 40 minutes or so south west from the villa. A drive round the south of the mountains is a rewarding day out with twisting single track roads leading to spectacular views. The mountain has plenty of trails ranging from the gentle to several day treks. For keen walkers several english guides to the mountains and large scale maps are available.

As with all roads inland in the Marche the roads in the mountains are very quiet compared to those in England. Camping in the wild is allowed in Italy. The Sibillini mountains make a relaxing change from today's so often over-crowded atmosphere of English walking resorts.
