Design

The villa was purchased as a ruin in 2004 and unlike many restorations most of the work was carried out or overseen directly by ourselves. This has meant we have been able to add far more individuality and character than those properties where the design initiative has been given over to third parties. Too often restored houses in Italy have a rather anonymous and artificial period feel.

As trained designers ourselves we have been able to create accommodation that has both modern and traditional spaces. The large rooms provide an ideal backdrop, accommodating the sensitive display of furniture from various eras and styles, including many design icons. The considered interior architecture and design has made spaces that have style without sterility; spaces good to look at and comfortable to live in.

We see the villa as an integral element of its surroundings and as such have extended our design approach to the landscaping of the gardens. These are still a work in progress but we hope you will appreciate the direction we are moving in.
